Jackson St.The general meeting is at 7 p.m. with 6:30 p.m. new member orientation. The presentation will be about the up coming quilt show and how to prepare your quilt for show. Sharon Roberts will be showing her award winning quilt and Vivian Roop will be showing her award winning dress and jacket. The January meeting is free of charge to all guests. Yearly membership is $30. Visit suncountryquilters.com. Setting it straight There was an error in the weekend edition front page story Boosting rural coffers. The name of the national environmental law should have been the National Environmental Policy Act. There was an error in Thursday’s page 3B story SRDC Thursday evening program resumes. The incorrect date was given and should have read Thursday, Jan. 20. A story about the Antelope Sewer project in Thursday’s paper contained an error. The city sewage plant has a commitment for an extra .2 MGD taking the committed capacity to 1.6 MGD. Popular Corning Girl Will Marry Alameda Man Miss Zella Samson Frary, one of Corning’s popu- lar young ladies and well-known in this city where she was born and attended school, will become the bride of Henry J. Hench of Alameda, tomorrow night. The wedding is to be an elaborate affair at the home of ex-supervisor and Mrs. W.H. Samson. The bride is a niece of Mr. Samson’s, the daughter of Mrs. Josie Frary, a well-known teacher of this county. —Daily News, Jan. 21, 1921 Tehama County Supervisor Ron Warner installed newly elected Corning Senior Center President Cathy Phillips and incumbent Dennis Converse on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Four new Corning Senior Center Board of Directors were elected at a high turnout of voting seniors and a closely ran race for the four open positions on the Executive Board of Directors. Not pictured were returning Executive Board Treasurer Barbara Vandygriff and newly elected Donna Walberg.The officers will hold two year terms with three positions opening in January of 2012. Senior Center Director Linda Lima thanked volunteers Daryl Slater and Janet Zunter for participating in the election and volunteering the time they spend at the local Corning Senior Center.
