Entertain Your Out-Of-Town Guests Downtown!
Christmas is certainly a time when friends and family gather to
celebrate. And if you have friends and family coming to
Fayetteville this year, then figuring out what to do when the
cookies have been baked, the tree has been trimmed and the
presents have been wrapped is not going to be hard when you
look at the downtown area! Here are a few ideas to help get you

celebrate being together.
• Bundle up and take a walk on the sidewalks downtown. Take in
the Christmas décor, the historic architecture and maybe even nature on the Linear Park trail.
• Make plans to attend a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day service in one of our historic churches downtown
including Hay Street United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church and St. John's
Episcopal Church. Beautiful music and fellowship complete the experience.
• Christmas is certainly not the time to count calories so spend some time ordering appetizers, entrees AND
desserts at one of our scrumptious patio restaurants. Try a different one for breakfast, lunch and dinner and
compare your favorites. And if you have not already, make your reservations for New Year's Eve! Quite a few
restaurants downtown will be hosting New Year's Eve dinner packages and you will not want to miss out!
• One of the most popular things to do at the holidays is see a movie, so make sure to take one in at the region's
most comfortable and stylish theater, The Cameo Art House on Hay Street. Velvet lined seats and gourmet
concessions are sure to wow anyone coming from out of town.
• You can also take in an activity such as rock climbing, working out, yoga, sampling wines and more. Take a
look around, there is a lot to do!
• Even more with activities, book a Wine and Design night or a night to paint pottery at Greg's Art, Pottery and
Gifts or make jewelry at Twisted Jeweler!
• And for the military enthusiasts in your crowd, make sure to visit the Airborne and Speical Operations Museum
and NC Veterans Park. Spend the afternoon taking in the sights and pairing it with something above.
Oh, and don't forget to prepare a gift bag or basket for your guest rooms. Downtown offers Fayetteville and local
specialty items at The Butcher and the Baker, Marquis Market, Turner Lane and Holmes Fine Gifts and other
fantastic gifts that will make their time in Fayetteville one not to forget.
