CHI OMEGA ASSOCIATION MAKES IMPORTANT
UPDATES TO CHAPTER HOUSE
he directors of the Chi Omega Association are delighted that the
Mu News has been revived! Chi Omega Association is the official
name of the house corporation that owns the property and contents
at 2421 Piedmont Avenue. The purpose of the house corporation is
to protect and preserve the chapter assets while providing a safe and
desirable environment in which Mu Chapter can thrive—for active and
future members. It is fortunate that the staff employed by the board is
so experienced and dedicated, headed by our talented and hardworking
business manager, Judy Pitman.
new roof in several areas, arborist inspections and tree trimming, painting
in many areas, Internet system upgrades, and new furniture to allow
for the increase of occupancy to 68 members. One fun upgrade was the
refurbishment of the rooftop deck with railings, latticework, and electricity
for night lights. These expenditures totaled more than $125,000 and will
keep our Grande Dame home in good order for some time to come.
In keeping with the mission to preserve our largest asset, the enormous
house built more than 100 years ago, each summer break we execute
major upgrades or improvements. Sometimes there is an exciting visible
outcome, such as in recent years with the redecorated living room, dining
room, study hall, and chapter room. This summer was primarily dedicated
to infrastructure, such as wood-destroying pest eradication and repair,
