Gamma Tau Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity at Drake University ~ Fall 2013 Submit Your Gift by December 31 to Ensure Gamma Tau Reaches $300,000 Cash Goal $1,152,750 Pledged to Date toward A Testament to Our Past, A Legacy for Our Future Campaign W e hope this newsletter finds you well and ready for a wonderful and relaxing holiday season. There are many things to be thankful for this year. Specifically, we are very thankful for the alumni who are making the A Testament to Our Past, A Legacy for Our Future campaign a success. With more than $1.1 million in signed pledges for the rebuilding of our chapter house, 2013 has been a prosperous year for Gamma Tau Chapter. We could not be more thankful and proud that we belong to Theta Chi, and we're sure you and nearly every other Gamma Tau alumnus feel the same way. The fraternity means different things to each of us, but we can all be thankful that we share this common bond. If we desire for future young men to have the same meaningful experiences, we must leave our legacy and commit to sustaining it. In our last campaign mailing, you received an update on the progress of our project. We are excited to share that after our first ever town hall teleconference, hosted on October 8, Gamma Tau Chapter received $54,042 in cash toward our year-end goal of $300,000 and received $30,570 in pledges. We are encouraged by the support shown thus far; however, there is little time left until we reach our December 31 deadline, and we must raise the remaining $245,958. Our need for cash before the year-end is vital. The campaign board members will approach Norwich Housing Corporation (NHC) in early 2014, and they must see that the chapter is in a strong position financially before they will commit their resources to the project. As this deadline approaches, we need gifts to ensure we reach our $300,000 year-end cash goal. We must also reach our overall fundraising goal of $1,856,000 so we won't have to compromise on the scope of the project. As you consider where you would like to designate your year-end charitable dollars, we hope that you will remember the men of Theta Chi Fraternity who you call brothers. While we have received amazing alumni support to date, it is clear that we need much more alumni participation to achieve our goals. We ask you to become a part of this project and use the enclosed pledge form to make a gift or pledge to A Testament to Our Past, A Legacy for Our Future today. We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and we hope to see you at Relays!
