That was the advice from Greek philosopher Socrates over 2000 years ago ... even before regis- tered dietitians roamed the earth. And in this joyous holi- day season, it may be diffi- cult to follow the sage advice to "Eat when thy stomach is hungry; not just when thy mouth is hungry." Here are some ways to determine if you a) eat to live; or b) live to eat: 1. a) You get up in the morning and plan what you will do; or b) You get up in the morning and plan what you will eat. 2. a) You think about Christmas dinner with hopeful anticipation; or b) You think about Christmas dinner with impatient sali- vation. 3. a) You are out shop- ping for Christmas gifts and forget to stop for lunch; or b) You are out for lunch and forget to shop for Christmas gifts. 4.
