The brothers of the Alabama Alpha Mu Chapter enjoyed their first football season with a great new deck on the pond and an expanded parking lot. I must say that every time I go by the house I leave wishing I could stay longer.   Alumni Volunteer for Success of Chapter Alabama Alpha Mu is fortunate to have a great group of alumni who have stepped up to serve the fraternity again this year. I can assure you that the fraternity does not run itself, and all of these alumni on the house corporation have given considerable time and effort to ensure our fraternity is the best on campus. One of my goals as house corporation president is to develop a rotation to allow more alumni to serve on the board, and allow longstanding members to roll off of the board with a great comfort level that dedicated replacements are waiting in the wings. If you have any interest in serving on the house corporation in the future, please contact me. We hope you will consider making a gift to the chapter.   While on the subject of generous giving, I want to acknowledge and thank the pledge class of 1982, which made a very generous contribution toward the construction of the new deck in memory of their pledge brothers, Chris Rand '86 and John Conner '86. A nice plaque has been affixed to one of the permanent benches on the deck acknowledging the gift. Please stop by and see the plaque next time you are at the house. House Corporation Recognized at National Convention This summer at the national convention in Chicago, our house corporation was awarded Honorable Mention in the category of Outstanding House Corporation based on our new grounds project and drug testing program. As only four awards were given in that category out of all chapters nationwide, we were thrilled to receive the award and happy that Harrison Fisher '14 was able accept the award for our chapter.   (Continued on page 2) Our brand new deck extends off the band room into the lake.
