Dear Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni:
I am pleased to hear that the ADZ House Corporation of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity has
decided to renovate their chapter house. The fraternity's legacy is steeped in tradition since
its founding on this campus on April 21, 1917.
For almost 100 years our campus and Lambda Chi have provided its members an
unparalleled college leadership experience for over 1,400 young men. In addition, the
Lambda Chi alumni have contributed very generously to Missouri School of Mines, University
of Missouri-Rolla, and Missouri S&T through new campus buildings, scholarships, Order of
the Golden Shillelagh, and other financial commitments, including leadership roles in the
Miner Alumni Association and the Board of Trustees.
The Greek system today at Missouri S&T is flourishing with more than 28 fraternities and
sororities, with 1,200 members constituting over 20% of the undergraduate students. Greek
members play a crucial role within the University and Rolla communities through their
academic achievements and leadership roles. The positive impact the fraternity experience
has on young men's lives cannot be overstated. The decision to provide superior living
accommodations will only enhance the fraternity experience for the members of Lambda Chi
Alpha fraternity at Missouri S&T.
I strongly support our fraternities and sororities and look forward to seeing this project
develop. I hope that the Lambda Chi alumni will support this campaign, in turn securing the
future of the Alpha Delta chapter for the next 100 years on the Rolla campus.
Warmest regards,
Cheryl B. Schrader, Ph.D.
