Wednesday, November 13, 2013 – Daily News 3A Community people&events Doughnut fundraiser for mission starts today Krispy Kreme doughnut orders are being taken as a mission trip fundraiser for Freedom Church of Red Bluff. A team of about 10 people will travel to Bangalore, India to work with India for Christ Ministries, which focuses on the establishment of churches throughout the nation as well as ministry to 600 children each day. The team will also spend time at Asha Kiran, a special needs school that works with children and their families to help the students reach their fullest potential. Orders can be placed in person at the church, on the corner of Oak and Monroe in Red Bluff, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. today. Cost is only $10 per dozen glazed doughnuts. Orders may also be placed by submitting your name, phone number and check payable to Blessing the Generations and dropped through the mail slot located in the door. All orders must be received by Wednesday, Nov. 13. Doughnuts will be available for pick up on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 29 at the church. Additional doughnuts will be for sale, as long as supplies last, along with coffee, hot chocolate and baked goods at the Red Bluff Christmas parade on Nov. 30 on Main Street by the Job Training Center. Auto stolen in full view of owner Chief of Police Frank Montgomery and Deputy Sheriff J. N. Froome have been on the lookout for the thief who stole a Ford coupe from H. B. Neilson in Red Bluff today. The machine was taken from a parking place on the street in full view of the owner, a short distance away. The thief darted out of sight, driving south as though headed for Red Bluff. Add 1/2 of beef; stirfry 1 to 2 minutes or until outside surface of beef is no longer pink (do not overcook). Remove from skillet. Repeat with 1 1/2 teaspoons butter and remaining beef. Remove beef from skillet; keep warm. 5. In same skillet, stir-fry sugar snap peas 2 minutes or until crisptender, stirring frequently. Return beef to skillet. Carefully stir in apricot sauce. Cook and stir 1 minute or until heated through. Serve over rice. Total preparation and cooking time: 25 minutes. Makes 4 servings. Two and a half years ago the church began plans for the south end of the church lot. Two years ago storage sheds were installed and last year a patio area was created. This year, thanks to a very generous congregation, a new play structure was erected and the Memory Wall was begun. Animals •A 73-year-old woman reported she was bitten by a Great Dane while riding her bicycle Monday on Parkway Drive. Burglary • Two firearms, a flat screen television and other items were taken during a burglary reported Friday on the 23000 block of Gyle Road. • Three handguns, a laptop computer and some jewelry were taken during a burglary reported Saturday on the 16000 block of Kahn Road. • A burglary was reported on the 2000 block of Cattle Drive Road Sunday. Found • A 3-year-old boy was reported missing from Daycare around 1:30 p.m. on the 12000 block of State Route 99E. The boy was found around 2:30 p.m. after deputies searched the orchards in the area. Fitness • A resident reported seeing a suspicious man walking slowly back and forth in front of her house Friday afternoon. Contact was made with the man, who lived near the area. Theft • A wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle on the 4000 block of Kirkwood Road Friday evening. • Nu Way Market reported someone stole a newspaper machine Friday. • A vehicle was reported stolen from a garage on the 15000 block of Cocktail Point Saturday. • A wallet, computer, camera and Ipod were reported taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at Rolling Hills Casino Monday. There was a second report of a water pump taken from a different unlocked vehicle at the same location earlier in the day.
