Chapter Shows Strength in Fall Semester Undergraduates Boast 3.2 G.P.A., Ranked Sixth of Campus Fraternities K ansas Beta started the school year in full force after coming off a spectacular spring 2013. Excelling in academics, intramurals, and being social leaders on campus and in the community, Sigma Phi Epsilon has shown why we continue to be a top fraternity at Kansas State. Our men put together a 3.2191 G.P.A., ranking sixth out of 25 fraternities on campus and moving up one spot from seventh the previous semester. It always pays off to see small improvements such as this one be rewarded. Our recruitment team, led by brothers Doug Brown '15 and Derek Heinz '15, put together a new member class of 29 stellar additions from a variety of geographical locations. Sticking to the qualifications that were implemented last year, all of these men possess at least a 3.0 G.P.A., are involved in some type of club or organization, and have the ability to prove strong social skills in order to receive a bid into our sacred fraternity. We have made great strides since welcoming these new members to Kansas Beta and are looking forward to seeing their growth as balanced men as they take leadership roles in the years to come. A few of the freshmen before performing their serenades at the K-State sororities. As the school year progresses, we have taken a stance on providing our members with a college experience full of events and activities that will make memories and friendships for a lifetime. This includes the speakers that have been arranged to come and give us useful wisdom at our formal dinners, the annual Mom's and Dad's Days that successfully incorporate family values into the fraternity, date parties with top sorority women on campus to establish a social balance, and the Rob Regier Cancer Research Golf Tournament that bring undergraduates and alumni together to support a great cause. Everything has been put in place for the men of Kansas Beta to reach our ultimate potential as undergraduates at a university that continues to grow and prosper. With a strong executive board that has the mindset to never settle for mediocre performance, but rather lead by example in a mission to truly be different, I am eager and excited to see where the year takes us.
