Chairspeaks T Connect with Your Fayetteville Young Professionals he Fayetteville Young Professionals’ membership numbers are well on their way to the 300 mark, and counting! We’ve addressed a need, and we are now seeing the benefits. Membership numbers have grown and young professionals are coming out to see what FYP has to offer. Members come from all professional backgrounds, like teaching, law, engineering and small business owners. It’s great to see young, energetic, and talented men and women getting in- volved in Fayetteville and Cumberland County and standing beside, not behind, other movers and shakers of the community. FYP is gearing up for many exciting events, from holiday socials and weekly breakfast meet-ups, to horse races and professional development lectures. We want to engage young professionals to network and socialize, as well as connect to business leaders in the community. Tis program is available to active duty personnel transitioning into ci- vilian life, veterans, service disabled veterans, WTB personnel (Wounded Warriors), Guard and Reserve, and/or spouses. Tis is a fantastic opportunity for vets and spouses - everything is free of charge from the notebooks and material, to breakfast and lunch each day. Classes are taught by area professionals, govern- ment officials, professors, teachers, and veteran business owners. Te VBOC mission is to advance the growth and commercial competitiveness of veteran owned small business enterprises through education and ser- vices. Working in concert with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the VBOC focuses on business development, technology deployment, and e- commerce. Te VBOC is in SBA Region IV and serves eight states, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. 10 UCW DECEMBER 8-14, 2010 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM Te Te
