Alumnae Update
Chapter Eternal
Mary Courtney Anderson '40, 90, entered
Chapter Eternal on March 13, 2012. She
was a member of the Methodist Church and
sang in the choir for more than 65 years. She
frequently played piano for church activities
and community events and experienced a
full life with family, friends, and music.

Lucy Owen Barnett '47 and her husband,
James, have three children: Betsy, Jamie, and
Susan. James was the Ole Miss student body
president in 1946 and Jamie followed in his
footsteps in 1974‑75. Lucy and James live in
Clinton, Miss.
Beverlyn Lomax Pepper '57 and her husband,
Bruce, reside in Nathrop, Colo. The couple
has two children.
Ann Ulmer Andrews '75 has been purchasing
children's materials for the past 14 years for
the Memphis Public Library. She is a member
of the choir at St. Elisabeth's Episcopal
Church, which travels to the British Isles
every few years to sing at the churches and
cathedrals and enjoy the sights. Ann and her
husband, Scott, reside in Memphis, Tenn.

Anita Jo Wood Byrd '77 is very excited to
announce that her daughter, Courtney Byrd
'11, was chosen as the Kappa Sigma Fraternity
sweetheart. Anita has fond memories of also
being the KS sweetheart about 30 years ago.

Mary Tinkler Cook '91 and her husband,
Casey, purchased a home in The Retreats,
located in the Wellsgate subdivision. They
plan to rent the home to friends or Phi Mus.

Linsey Stone Pickens '00 and her husband,
Jody Pickens, were married on June 18,
2011. Five of her bridesmaids were Alpha
Delta sisters and one was a Phi Mu from

Emily Banks Verdi '00 and her husband,
Michael, have two children, Michael and
Victoria. They reside in Toluca Lake, Calif.
Emily is studying acting at Playhouse West
under acclaimed acting teacher, Robert
Carnegie. She loves being able to stay at
home with her children and pursue her

Ashley Crowley '03 was married on July
30, 2010, to her high school and college
sweetheart. She works as an RN and
completed her master of science in nursing
for family nurse practitioner in December
