science in management engineering in 1967. Later that year, he started his career with IBM Kingston and ultimately ended up as a senior manager, retiring in 1999 after 32 years of service. Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia. There was nothing Bill loved more than spending time at the family camp in Saranac Lake. He enjoyed any type of fishing, but fly fishing was his favorite. Robert D. Tyler '72 (A1124) entered Chapter Eternal on August 8, 2012, at his residence after a brief illness. Prior to his retirement in 2006, Bob was employed with Madison-Oneida BOCES as a teacher. He was a football referee for the high school level in the Tri-Valley League and officiated for Pop Warner football. Bob also coached various other sports and enjoyed all sports, especially horse racing and golf. He is survived by his children, Dan and Laura, and two grandchildren, Ava and Hannah. Benjamin K. Haynes '04 (A1526) entered Chapter Eternal July 2, 2013. Truly a gift from God to all who knew and loved him, Ben's larger than life presence and humor would light up any room. He was so loved by his family and many others and misunderstood by most. He was an avid fan of professional wrestling, video gaming, comic books, and action figure collectibles. Benjamin excelled at many things, art, history, but was best known locally as an outstanding tennis player. He graduated summa cum laude in 2004. During his senior year at RPI, he and Brother John Viggiano '02 (A1488) started their own web design/multimedia business, VigCraft Arts, later renamed Destined Studios. Ben then continued his studies at RPI to earn his master's degree in human-computer interaction, graduating with a perfect 4.0. Since creating both in 2006, Ben and John ran the alumni association website and online database for Alpha Chapter, putting many long hours into maintaining the site and sending out the e-newsletter twice a year. He is survived by the light of his life, his and Tracy Gibson's five-year-old daughter, Alaina LeeAnn Haynes, who he simply adored; as well as his fiancée, Melissa Brennan, and her son, Noah, whom he loved dearly. "Benny was a beautiful human being; a one-of-akind specimen. He was an original and bright light in our world. He just burned so brightly and so quickly. But he packed every ounce of every minute with life and lived it so hard, so fast and so passionately. I stand here in awe of him," said John Viggiano '02 (A1488). Brothers John Viggiano, Brad Spencer '04 (A1517), Bobby King '04 (A1519), Dan Harris '12 (A1608), Robert Robles-Mejia (initiated 2006) (A1577), Jamie Smith '01 (A1492), and Chris Baldauf '03 (A1487) attended Ben's funeral in Syracuse. In memory of Ben, please consider making contributions to daughter Alaina's 529 College Savings Fund by making checks payable to Ann J. Haynes F/B/O Alaina Haynes, and mailing to Ann J.
