Alphabet Soup Chapter Eternal Carl H. Flemer '40 (A516) entered Chapter Eternal Tuesday, June 11, at Langdon Place of Keene, N.H., where he resided since 2005. He graduated from RPI with a degree in mechanical engineering. Carl was a member of the Society of American Professional Engineers and retired to Rockingham, Va., in 1970. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie, and his sons, Edward and William, and his grandchildren: Beverly, James, and Emilie Flemer. Paul C. Miller '46 (A639) entered Chapter Eternal peacefully surrounded by family on December 20, 2012, at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. Paul graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Bridgeport in 1948. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. He and his wife, Jeanne, were residents of Swampscott, Mass., for over 40 years. They retired to their farm in Lempster, which they owned for 45 years, and where they spent many happy days with family and friends. David A. Donnelly '47 (A682) entered Chapter Eternal on February 22 with his family at his side. He is lovingly remembered by his four children: Patricia, Dan, Kathy, and Teresa. David graduated from RPI in 1946 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He went on to work at General Electric, retiring in 1985. Memorial donations may be made to any Veteran Support Center. Albert H. Harding '49 (A708) entered Chapter Eternal on September 12, 2012. After high school, Albert volunteered into the Army Air Force and served in the Pacific Theatre until 1945 as a crew chief and aerial engineer in the 475th Fighter Group. After the war, he graduated from RPI. He worked at the Watervliet Arsenal for many years, retiring in 1988. In 1967 he was ordained a perpetual deacon in the Episcopal Church, and served at St. George's in Clifton Park ever since. He was a past master of Cohoes Lodge 116 of Free Masons. Joseph E. Kobell '50 (A730) entered Chapter Eternal on February 21. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a man of quiet strength and wisdom. Joe joined the Army Air Corps during World War II as a tail gunner on a B24. Upon completions of his missions, he returned home and met Betsy, who later became his wife of 64 years. As a father, he was a coach, math tutor, protector, and above all, a sounding board. He always supported the dreams and aspirations of his children, but had the unique ability to keep them grounded. David L. Cooper '50 (A744), a retired Navy captain who worked on shipboard electronics for technology and defense contractors including Sperry and Unisys, entered Chapter Eternal January 17 at a hospital in Viera, Fla. His military decorations included the Meritorious Service Medal. John W. Tencza '52 (A783) entered Chapter Eternal June 2, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a lieutenant in the Signal Corps. As a state licensed engineer, he worked on a number of assignments in hospitals, schools, factories, and office buildings. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Peter, and daughter, Amy. Andrew J. Anselmo '58 (A903) entered Chapter Eternal April 18 following a several-year battle with multiple sclerosis and many other complications. "In spite of his illness, Andy handled his disability with dignity and grace, continuing to work for several years and enjoying cruises when time and health allowed," says Ann. After several hospitalizations Andy and Ann opted for in-home care, but after a hyperbaric oxygen treatment and another hospitalization Andy succumbed, "But, as usual, not after the fight of his life," shares Ann. "Everyone seemed so saddened, the nurses and doctors who treated him. They respected him and could not believe the person he was with all his disabilities. His hospital doctor cried and could not believe the fight he put up with such dignity and grace. Under those circumstances it was hard to lose him. "I hope this encourages someone at least to put up a good fight and never lose faith. Andy kept his to the end. I miss him terribly and have all his RPI and Theta Xi 'stuff' all around me."  Ann says that Andy absolutely enjoyed his days at RPI, and that being a member of Alpha helped him maintain 4.0, if not better, GPA. He would eat all his meals at the fraternity house and constantly raved about Ben the chef. Ann, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 55 years, and Andy resided in Delray Beach, Fla. Parry Jr. '60 (A918) entered Chapter Eternal on March 10. He was captain of the football team at RPI. He was commissioned a second lieutenant and served at the U.S. Army transportation research command in Virginia. He received a master's degree in personnel management from George Washington University in 1961. Charles T. Melick '64 (A1005) entered Chapter Eternal on February 1. He was a civil engineer for Melick-Tully Associates in South Bound Brook, N.J. Charles was a car enthusiast and enjoyed reading car magazines. Most importantly, he was a great family man. William R. Hutton '66 (A1026) entered Chapter Eternal after a long and courageous fight against Alzheimer's disease. He furthered his education at Rensselaer by receiving a master of
