6A – Daily News – Wednesday, November 24, 2010 Commerce business This is a great week to hit the "pause" button and enjoy fam- ily and friends. It’s a won- derful time to catch-up with the people we love and just have a change of pace. We can laugh too much, eat too much and be tempted to spend too much. The actual act of "Thanksgiving" is a powerful thing if we really pur- pose in our hearts to act on it. If we are filled with thanksgiving (giving thanks) we will be happy. It doesn’t mean there aren’t bumps in the road and life challenges but the perspec- tive of thankfulness will get us & through with flying colors. I personally am very grate- ful for the many blessings in my life. I’m thankful for my wife and children, my extended family as well as new and old friends. I love my job at the chamber and I am very appreciative for my staff, the Board of Directors and our members. I must mention a big thank you to all the volunteers and community members that I’ve met in Red Bluff and Tehama County this past year. I am grateful to you all for being a bright spot in my life. This year has been filled with Compassionate Health Center and Rio Skin & Body Works have recently moved into adjoining quar- ters at the Crowder Build- ing on the corner of Wash- ington and Pine streets, across from the Tehama County Court House, in downtown Red Bluff. The move was the cul- mination of plans made by Dr. Strawberry Weber, BS, DC, Licensed Esthetician Debbie Gamble and her husband E. Ray Gamble, BS, MBA, a Certified Nat- ural Health Professional (CNHP), starting in 2007. Their goal was to assemble a group of full- and part- time natural health practi- tioners, and their equip- ment, in one location, to foster a change in lifestyle habits, using education and holistic wellness systems and treatments to bring a positive change in health for individuals at risk, including seniors, young people, families, and those who are disabled. In conjunction with the consolidation, Licensed Acupuncturist Janette Votaw, of the Healing Cen- ter in Chico, with a Mas- ters in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM), has moved her Red Bluff offices into the new health center at 658 Washington St. Among other indepen- dent contractors at the cen- ter are a total of five licensed massage thera- pists. Services being offered and those in the future will include: Health Evalua- tions, Chiropractic Care, Exercise Physiology, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Therapy, Skin and Body Treatments, Mas- sage Therapy, Detoxifica- tion, Ear Candling, Lym- phatic Drainage, Nutrition and Stress and Weight Management. The five licensed mas- sage therapists at the health center offer visionary treat- ments for pain relief, stress reduction, injury recovery and peace of mind. They perform relaxation mas- sage, deep tissue massage therapy and body wrap treatments.
