Redding brewery to celebrate first year REDDING — Wildcard Brewing Company celebrates its first year anniversary 2-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at its tap room at 9565 Crossroads Drive. The Buckhorn Mountain Stompers will be playing music 4:30-8:30 p.m. and Taco Loco food truck will be serving curbside starting at 4 p.m.. Join Wildcard in celebration of a successful first year and the production of its first Redding brewed ale. Receive a custom pint glass and enjoy pint specials. The name Wildcard was meant to reflect the personal nature of someone who would risk it all in pursuit of a dream. That's exactly what Jeff and Jenny Hansen have done to make their brewery a reality. "To be where we are now is still surreal," Jenny said. "Like any start up, it's been more work than we could ever fathom, has taken its toll at times, but it's all been worth it. We are eager to celebrate with the Redding community, for it's our customers and supporters that have made it all possible." In September, the brewery installed a 15-barrel brew system on site and plans to release the first Redding brewed batch of beer today. Divide and Conquer is an English Style Ale. Not only is it the first brew off the new system but it was also inspired by the Head Brewer's course of study in England. It will be available in the tasting room as well as distributed to local bars and restaurants. Wildcard produces four year round ales as well as several seasonal brews. They are distributed in 30 various locations in Redding as well as the surrounding Tehama, Butte, Trinity and Siskiyou counties. It is the first production brewery in Redding since before Prohibition.
