A native of Russellville, Alabama, and longtime Tuscaloosa resident, Sue fought a long battle with cancer but was thrilled to attend the Donor Gala in March and see our new sorority house become a reality. Jane McDowell Jeffers '65 entered Chapter Grand on March 26. She was a native of Birmingham and graduated from Ramsay High School. Jane worked in residential real estate in the Birmingham area for many years. She also volunteered as a docent at the Weeks Bay Estuary, where she shared her passion for flowers with others. She loved the Lord, babies, weddings, everything and everybody. Alumnae News_________________ Julia Zeigler Boyd '55 married her childhood sweetheart, George Boyd. They are enjoying life in Huntsville. Julia's granddaughter, Amelia Sutton '11, is a junior at the University of Alabama. Biddy Smith Merrell '56 and her husband, Jim, have lived in Huntsville, Ala., for 12 years. They have two children, Patricia and Jimmy. Jimmy lives in Bryan, Texas, and owns a construction business. Patricia and her husband, Ed, have two children, Madding and Wren, and live in Nashville, Tenn. Madding joined Alpha Gamma Delta at Auburn last fall. They have three generations of Alpha Gams in their family now. Patty Goodwin Sexton '62 retired in 2011 from the City of Selma after 23 years. She and her husband, Joe, have three children: Shannon, Joe, and Sarah. Patty served on various civic boards to promote Selma, cancer research, and the Journey School (a pre-school for special and typical development children). She also served as the era leader in the 1960s for the new sorority house fundraising drive. Alice "Sug" Walker Keene '67 and her husband, Tommy, reside in Montgomery, Ala. For the last five years, she has had the pleasure of hosting her pledge class at her house on Lake Martin. The ladies spend two days and nights catching up on old times, laughing, and relaxing. She would love to hear from any of you. Paige is now doing an orthodontic residency at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Susan is an orthodontic resident at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in Denver. Janet McElheny Hudson '76 and her husband, Lee, have two sons, Lee Jr. and John. Janet is a senior registered client associate for Merrill Lynch in Florence, Ala., where the couple resides.
