Loose Leaf Collection Starts Soon Trees are showing their vibrant red and gold colors that along with the cooler weather ushers in Fayetteville’s fall season. The fall season also is the beginning of the citywide loose-leaf collection program that allows citizens to place non-containerized leaves and pine straw curbside for pickup by City staff. Due to budget constraints, this program will provide only one sweep per neighborhood instead of the customary two citywide sweeps. The 2010-2011 schedule begins Monday, Nov. 29 and runs through Thursday, March 10. “We have redesigned our program to try and provide the same level of service to citizens,” said Michael Gibson, program coordinator and Parks & Recreation director. “As a result, this year’s leaf season will only include one pass through each neighborhood. The collection period, however, will last longer in each zip code zone.” continued next page
