To Make Better Men Alpha Gamma Rho won the spring spittoon. Alpha Gamma Rho Ranked Top Academically Lambda Chapter Recognized with Lifelong Membership Development Honor A new semester is in full swing, and the undergraduate Brothers are ready for another successful year with Alpha Gamma Rho. Usually I might open my report with "From 2060 Carter," but for the time being I write to you all from room 316 of the brand new 17th Avenue dorm, near fraternity row on the Minneapolis campus. Although the daily commute to Saint Paul is less than ideal, we are constantly reminded of the future that lies before us on the corner of Carter Avenue as the Campus Connector cruises by on its daily route. Each day comes with renewed excitement as progress is made toward the completion date. Lambda Obtains Highest GPA on Campus I am proud to report the academic achievements of our brothers for the 201213 academic year. AGR ranked first out of all 29 fraternities at the University of Minnesota with a 3.34 GPA. Our grades were well above the all-university average and all-Greek average. Thirteen brothers were named to the dean's list, and we have full intentions to meet or exceed these numbers for the new academic year. Chapter Recognized Nationally Lambda Chapter was recognized nationally with highest honors for lifelong membership development through the annual awards program. Additionally, we received honorable mention for promise and values, and our own Brother Dylan Barth '11 was selected for the Dale Runnion Scholarship.   Summer Fun Our summer was filled with livestock shows, internships, world travel, and a brotherhood retreat at the ranch of Brother Ryan Rehbein '11. It was a great weekend to unwind, share summertime stories, and have some fun— especially after we emptied out box after box of shotgun shells and smashed nearly 1,000 clay pigeons while trap shooting.   As you may recall from previous noble ruler reports in our Crescent, we have had a successful year as a chapter, and I strongly believe that although we may not have an AGR roof over our head for the time being, the bond of our brotherhood redefines what a college home can mean for each of us.  While the physical home may change, nothing can replace the brotherhood forged and the experiences gained in that house. Once again, we are more than excited for the future of Lambda Chapter and the future brothers that will have the opportunity to not only live in our beautiful home, but reap the rewards of being in Alpha Gamma Rho. Our current meeting place on Monday nights is located at the Hospitality Center for the Chinese, just north of the Chapter House on Cleveland Avenue. We would be pleased to have you visit and speak at a meeting. We are 1,752 Brothers strong, so let's finish this campaign equally as strong! Thank you always for your support. Fraternally, Noble Ruler Kirby Schmidt '10 schm2807@umn.edu / (507) 530-6611
