Talk about recycling! • SwapaDVD.com is a reliable web- site where you can swap the DVDs you no longer want for ones you do. Regis- ter for a free account on this site, and decide which of your DVDs you want to swap. You must have the original cases; simply list your DVDs by their UPCs. Full descriptions and cover art are supplied by the SwapaDVD data- base, so you don't have to upload or scan anything. When someone wants one of your DVDs, you mail it. (Postage averages about $2 per package via first-class mail; SwapaDVD members can print postage and a combo mailing label and wrapper for sending a movie.) With a library of Police reports The following informa- tion is compiled from Red Bluff Police Department, Tehama County Sheriff’s Department, Corning Police Department and California Highway Patrol. Arrests • Rebecca Diane Bochantin, 39, was arrested Saturday in the 900 block of Fig Lane. Bochantin, also known as Becky Nolan and Rebecca Diane Morgan, was booked into jail on the charge of being a fugitive from justice. Bail was $10,000. • Daniel Troy Ferrell, 18, of Lake Port was arrested Saturday in the 1100 block of S. Main Street in Red Bluff. He was booked into jail on the charges of suspi- cion of driving under the influence and receiving known stolen property. Bail was $12,500. • Lance Elton Ward, 40, of Red Bluff was arrested Friday in the 22800 block of Marjie Avenue in Red Bluff. He was booked on the charges of battery with seri- ous injury and mayhem. Bail was $60,000. Accord- ing to Sheriff’s logs a woman reported her friend had been battered by his landlord. • Chrissy Ann Dunn, 30, of Corning was arrested Sunday in the 900 block of Toomes Avenue. Dunn was booked into jail on the charges of failure to appear, unlawful intercourse with a minor, oral copulation with a person under 16-years- old and lewd act upon a child. Bail was $101,306. • Ryan Dee Freemyers, 28, of Red Bluff was arrest- ed during a traffic stop at 12:27 a.m. Sunday in the area of Shasta Avenue at Cascade Avenue in Red Bluff. During the stop it was determined that Freemyers had an outstanding felony warrant for burglary. A search of his vehicle turned up a wooden baseball bat, which Freemyers admitted possessing for the purpose of self defense. He was booked into Tehama Coun- ty Jail on the charge of pos- sessing, manufacturing or selling a dangerous weapon. Bail was $20,000. • A Red Bluff transient, identified as Michael Richard Mehringer, 45, was arrested during a traffic stop at 2:57 a.m. Sunday in the area of Chestnut Avenue at Berrendos Avenue for pos- session of concentrated cannabis, driving on a sus- pended license and parole violation. A routine license and warrants check showed nearly 200,000 DVDs currently available to be sent to your mail- box, think of the possibilities; maybe you could cancel your cable TV service or your Netflix account. • Swap.com lets members trade books, movies, music and video games for free. SwapBaby- Goods.com is set up for one-to-one swaps. (You find someone who has something you want and who wants something you have.) No bail was set. • Chico area transient Gary Marley, 28, was arrest- ed Friday evening in the area of Rawson Road, south of Chard Avenue in Gerber. Deputies responding to the area for reports of a suspi- cious person in a vehicle parked on the shoulder found Marley. A consent search of his vehicle and person resulted in deputies finding prescription medica- tion not belonging to Mar- ley and two hypodermic needles in the glove box. Marley was arrested and booked into jail on the charges of possession of a designated controlled sub- stance and hypodermic nee- dles or syringe. During pre- booking, officers found a hidden compartment in his jacket with more of the same prescription pills and the charge of bringing con- trolled substance into a jail was added. Bail was $12,500. BOLO • A be-on-the-lookout for was issued in the Corn- ing area for a red 1992 Chevy Blazer, license 2ZMB542, with oxidized paint and a monkey hanging from the mirror. According to logs, the suspect, ‘Junior’ got the victim drunk before stealing $900 cash and per- sonal belongings. Collision • Two people were injured in a collision at 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 99W at Liberal Avenue. Angelica Vargas, 36, and a 12-year old boy, both of Hamilton City, had minor injuries. Vargas was taken to St. Elizabeth Com- munity Hospital while the boy regularly swap clothing for coupons and other things as your kids outgrow things. Both vehicles had major damage. Crash • Christian Lotakdun, 18, of Red Bluff was uninjured in a crash at 8 p.m. Saturday on southbound Interstate 5, south of Riverside Avenue. Lotakdun was driving in the fast lane, took his attention off the road as it curved and ran into the concrete barrier, causing moderate damage to his vehicle. • A rollover crash with an unknown driver took place at midnight Saturday on Chittenden Road, east of Black Butte Road, involving a 1998 Chevy Astro van that was left behind. The driver was going east on Chitten- den when they allowed the vehicle to drift off the road, hit a fence and overturn before it caught fire. Between damage from the crash and the fire, the vehi- cle was totally destroyed, a CHP spokesman said. There was a trail of clothing and beer cans left behind at the scene, he said. Gun • A woman in the 900 block of Franklin Street in Red Bluff reported Saturday finding a gun wrapped in a towel in a trash bag outside of her residence after hear- ing two voices in the alley a few minutes before from her bedroom window. Upon arrival, the woman showed officers a trash bag, with a broken .22 caliber rifle. The owner of the rifle has not been determined. Hit and run • A hit and run involving a trailer was reported Satur- day evening in the 900 block of Hasvold Drive in Red Bluff. Witnesses reported the suspect vehicle, last seen on Jackson Street, was not transported from the scene. The two were passengers in a vehicle driven by Rodrigo Preciado, 38, of Corning who was dri- ving south on Highway 99W approaching Liberal when a vehicle going north, driven by Efren Deoca, 35, of Hamilton City who was believed to be intoxicated, tried to make a left turn directly into the path of Pre- ciado’s vehicle. With the assistance of a citizen, officers located the vehicle, which had been dri- ven by Samantha Lonsber- ry, 27, of Red Bluff, at an apartment complex on Vista Way and made contact with her. Officers determined Lonsberry had been driving under the influence and was responsible for the hit and run collision. She was arrested and booked into jail on the charges of suspicion of driving under the influ- ence prescription medica- tion after officers contacted her regarding the hit and run collision. Theft • A woman reported Sat- urday evening that her purse, which had $700 cash, keys and a gold band single diamond ring worth about $300 in it, had been stolen from a shopping cart at The Dollar Tree. • According to Red Bluff Police logs a person was detained in the Starbucks parking lot at 3:11 a.m. Sat- urday while four others ran behind Subway when some- one reported a theft from the AM/PM. There was also information that someone had stolen hard alcohol from Food Maxx before a person was booked into Tehama County Jail on the charges of theft and driving under the influence. Noth- ing further was available. Vandalism • At 4 a.m. Saturday, offi- cers responded to Baskin Robbins on Main Street where officers learned that one of the glass doors had been smashed. A Baskin Robbins’ employee related that a HP Laptop, an Ipod and an undisclosed amount of cash had been stolen from the business.
