The Cardinal and Straw K eeping C lose with K appa A lpha Fall 2013 When we looked upon that pin, our hearts then opened up to Chi Omega. Even though we were very young, we must have realized something about the spirit of the fraternity. Jobelle Holcomb, University of Arkansas 1895, Chi Omega Founder Kappa Alpha Chapter www.chaptersites. chiomega.com House Corporation Welcomes New Member Board Appreciates Alumnae Support he House Corporation has a new board member. Please welcome Rebecca Stack '09. Becca has joined the board as treasurer. Her accounting career and Chi Omega leadership as an active member will be a tremendous asset to our board. We were fortunate to work with Becca for two years while she served on the executive board as president. She was the driving force for the execution of the new electronic payment system, Billhighway. T The House Corporation had a workshop meeting this summer to do some cleaning and clearing of old things. Vice President of Facilities Kim Jacobson '80 worked hard before recruitment to get the Kappa Alpha Chapter prepared for our newest members. She installed wood blinds in the dining room, and purchased new furniture pieces for the upstairs and basement study areas, as well as new table and chairs in the rec room, which have received rave reviews from the collegians. Chi Omega www.chiomega.com Who knew or thought about the fact that the house had bills to pay, employees to pay, insurance to pay, utilities to pay, etc. while they were living in the house? I sure didn't, but then again, I graduated in fashion design, not economics. Now that I am a grown-up (no comment, sisters) and volunteer for the House Corporation (aka landlords) I wonder how in the world the house ran back then. Keep in mind we were debt free back in the day. While we are focusing on debt reduction from the major renovation and improvements we have already accomplished, we always have plans for more and appreciate your continued financial support. I look forward to seeing you at our centennial reunion, April 17–19, 2015.
