The Nu Lasting Legacy Circle will recognize alumni who have included Nu Chapter in their wills and estate plans. While our annual fundraising efforts have been successful in raising funds for much-needed maintenance expenditures, it's time we build long-term financial strength. We need funds that can be used for transformative investments in Nu Chapter. Many alumni have already said they would like to include Nu Chapter in their wills. We will soon provide the appropriate information, advice, and recognition to facilitate this ultimate form of generosity. Detailed information about the Lasting Legacy Circle will be mailed to all alumni aged 50+ later this fall. For others interested in participating, please contact Steve Sears '80 at steve.sears79@ gmail.com. Join Us for Homecoming Reunion lumni, thank you for attending the recent golf tournament and reunion. The event was a big success and it was great to see so many alumni return to Nu Chapter and reconnect with their old college roots. Toshiba donated all of the golf prizes for the event, while Upper Crust Catering cooked the delicious barbecue on our Sigma Nu smoker. We would like to extend a special thanks to Curtis Coffey '48, Nu 818, for traveling more than 2,000 miles from Costa Rica to attend the event. We look forward to seeing everyone back for Homecoming on Saturday, October 5. Thanks for all of your support! Kevin Lydon '70, Nu 1326, Thankful for Sigma Nu Alumnus Reminisces about Chapter Experience K evin Lydon '70, Nu 1326, says he joined Sigma Nu because of the strong camaraderie within the chapter. As an undergraduate, he enjoyed meeting alumni, walking to the football games, hanging out with his big brother, and networking with the brothers of Sigma Nu. Kevin's transition from a small high school to a large university was eased by the friendships he made in Nu Chapter. Throughout the last eight years, Kevin has made more than 20 trips back to the University of Kansas. When he is in town, he enjoys meeting up with brothers such as Howard Forsythe '68, Nu 1263, Ken Guest '67, Nu 1247, Steve Moon '67, Nu 1257, Mark Grissom '67, Nu 1250, and Ovie Palmer '67, Nu 1249. They often go to 23rd Street Brewery to reminisce about their times in college. Kevin earned a bachelor's degree in biology and became an optometric physician in St. Louis. He is thankful for the mandatory study halls and alumni involvement that influenced him. Kevin encourages undergraduates to "stay committed, follow your dreams, be ethical, and don't blow your mind out with alcohol!" Kevin and his wife, Susan, have been married for 38 years. They have one daughter, Jennifer, who attended Truman University. Kevin resides in Saint Peters, Missouri, where he has been in private practice for the last 32 years. He can be reached at klydon1121@gmail.com.
