F Texas Gamma Announces $800,000 From Roots to Wings Campaign Your Support Is Needed to Make Our Dream a Reality or the past 60 years, the rich traditions of Pi Beta Phi have made a significant impact on the lives of Texas Gamma women at Texas Tech University. Many of our most special college memories involve our Texas Gamma sisters. Pi Phi's values and rich history have sustained generations of our sisterhood and impacted the members of the university community. Investing in Our Future Texas Gamma's lodge was built in 1972 as one of the first lodges on Greek Circle. For more than 40 years, #17 Greek Circle has provided a safe and nurturing environment for our sisters to grow and learn. However, it has become clear that a major renovation and expansion is needed in order to remain competitive with other Greek organizations on campus. Our investment in Texas Gamma will yield a facility that complements our efforts to produce outstanding members, scholars, and leaders for years to come. Major Upgrades Needed With all of the excitement surrounding our lodge renovation and expansion, it is important to keep a few things in mind. The renovation is not strictly a desire to change the curb appeal or update the paint and furnishings. There have been some major issues that have been bandaged year after year and we have come down to a real necessity for major construction. For years, the roof has been leaking and the House Corporation has done its best to fix and bandage the issue. This is no longer a solution. A new roof and structure is needed. In addition, we consistently experience air conditioning problems each year during recruitment and greatly need a new heating and air conditioning system. With many advanced systems in today's market that are more cost effective, we will be ahead of the game to get a new system with higher efficiency factors. Our most important need, however, is a sprinkler system for the entire building. The protection and safety of our sisters is our top priority so we must provide this much-needed safety measure. The Commitment of Our Sisters As we embark on this journey to renovate the lodge, we thank all of the sisters and friends who have provided early financial commitments to bring these plans to reality. Thus far, $602,025 has been committed to the From Roots to Wings campaign. This is a marvelous start, but we need your help to exceed the $800,000 campaign goal if we hope to complete the $1.1 million plan as envisioned. Your Part in the Plan In the coming weeks, you will receive more information detailing this project and how you can help make a difference. Let us add your name to the growing list of campaign donors on page 3. With your help, we can ensure the legacy you helped build lives on for many years to come.
