Restoration Gives Theta Exterior a New Look L New Housemother, Linda Doyle W e welcome Linda Doyle as the new facility director for the Alpha Chi Chapter. Linda, a West Lafayette native, comes with years of experience working within the university system and most recently served as facility director for Alpha Phi sorority. ast May, the Alpha Chi Facility Corporation commissioned a total assessment of our building to determine any current issues and possible future expenditures. This assessment led to the discovery of an immediate need to address moisture issues affecting our building. The recommendation was to clean and waterproof the brick and stone, repair and recoat the exterior insulation finish system (EIFS/stucco-like surface), remove and replace all caulking, and repaint all paintable surfaces. This became our main project for the summer. The maintenance project gave us the opportunity to recolor elements of the facade. We chose to make the exterior EIFS match the brick and stone of the 1992 addition, giving the house a much more cohesive appearance. We also decided to accent the shutters and exterior doors, painting them a version of Theta black. The level of lighting on our front porch has been increased and new lighting installed at the front steps. The parking lot has been resurfaced, and we will soon replace the overgrown trees at the corners of the new addition that were removed to clean and waterproof the structure. Our beautiful Theta kite is shiny with a new coat of paint and again flies high on the north facade. We hope you will visit on Homecoming weekend, September 28 and 29, to see Alpha Chi's sparkling new look at 607 Russell Street. Loyally, Judy Bernet Evans '64 Alpha Chi Facility Corporation
