Thurman Headlining Military Leadership Luncheon The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce will host its sixth annual Military Leadership Business Luncheon on November 9, 2010, from 12-1:30 p.m., at the Crown Center Hospitality Ballroom, with guest speaker General James D. Thurman, U.S. Army Froces Command. This event draws in over 300 attendees, military and civilian, to listen to issues pertaining to the military leadership community. Each year the Chamber raises the bar with the caliber of keynote speaker and this year will prove to be no different. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7. He is the former commanding general of United States V Corps in Heidelberg, Germany. General Thurman began his career in the 4th Infantry Division serving as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Motor Officer. He has com- manded at all levels from Company to Division. He departed Kuwait to become the Director, Army Aviation Task Force, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, United States Army in Washington, D.C., where he remained until his arrival at Fort Hood as the 4th Infantry commander.
