P 14 .DM. THOUGHTBUSTER.COM React vs. Respond By Coach Louise Rouse Once there was this man who lost his job, which really made him mad. Then Coach Louise Rouse Visit: http//:www. americasgriefcoach.com Recycle... on the way home his car broke down. He got out of the car, cursed it with a few choice names then slammed the door shut. He started walking down the road hating life with every step. All of a sudden he fell into a very deep hole. Now this really increased his anger, as he felt trapped in the hole. He started yelling at the top of his lungs “I am going to sue the city for not taking care of this road, those lazy no good idiots. Get me the hell out of here. His tone would scare anybody it all adds up! Recycle your empty inket cartridges and used cell phones! Help raise funds for the local Arizona Centennial celebration! DROP OFF LOCATIONS: • Horizon Community Bank • Quartzsite Library • Senior Center • General Store • Business Chamber Sponsored by Proud Neighbors of Quartzsite who passed by. A lawyer who was standing across the street heard his cuss- ing screams, came over and tossed his card in the hole and yelled, “When you get, out call me.” Then he walked away. Now he hated lawyers, the city, his boss, his car and his life. He yelled out “I hate all of you and I am in pain!” A nurse walking by heard this scream. It scared her, but she could N 3, 2010 not have anyone in pain so she threw down a bottle of aspirin she had in her purse and ran away. The man yelled, “You stupid woman, I hate women!” Then a coach walked by, and he heard all this screaming and cussing in a hole. He called the fire dept, gave them the location and jumped in the hole. The man looked at him and said, “You are just as stupid as the rest of them. Why did you jump in this hole?” Then the coach said, “Because I know how to get you out.” The man said oh yeah, then how the _ _ _ _ are you going to do that?” The coach said, “I just called the fire department, they are on the way.” The man meekly reached into his pocket to feel for his phone, he took it out, and opened it up to see if it was work- ing. It was. Why had he forgotten to use his phone? When we react verses respond to a situation we cannot think clearly. Only our emotions are doing the talking, our rational thinking goes out the door. There are many times in our life when we get test- ed with our emotions. We forget to think before we speak. When our internal pain blinds us to not see a way out, so, we attack the ones around us. All be- cause we are either mad, afraid, or not liking our- selves. But when we have a coach to help us find the way out, we discover how to respond. Then we take positive actions to turn our life around. If you find your stuck in a hole, call for a free coach- ing session 541-821-6213.
