(Partners for Animal Welfare & Safety) FICKLE FALL TEMPERATURES CAN CAUSE DISTRESS TO OUTDOOR PETS P.A.W.S. SAYS... Please keep in mind that nature has likely not kept up with our weather changes and our outdoor pets are likely in transition on their shedding vs winter coats. With this in mind your help in planning and providing shelter out of the wind, rain and fluctuating daytime-nighttime temperatures would be welcome and wise for their comfort and health. If you take these steps and your pets fail to take advantage of your thoughtfulness right away, bear in mind that when they are uncomfortable, they will use the shelter and warmth if it is within a reasonable proxim- ity of a place in or around your property in which they feel they can escape in the event of invasion by night critters etc. They just like to think they thought this neat nest up themselves. This is their natural instinct of caution that they seldom loose even with domesticity. Of course, the best locations are barns, garages, indoor patio’s etc. where your pet still feels in control of the environment. Keep in mind, city dwellers, even you and your pets are vulnerable to roaming wildlife. Thanks for taking the extra time to assure that your pets are as safe and warm as possible.
