4th Friday and Arts Alive at 4th Friday
All of the fun that you have been accustomed to keeps getting better on 4th Friday! Hosted by the Downtown Alliance, downtown merchants feature artists and musicians in their stores, celebrating downtown with a variety of specials and entertainment. At the same time, stroll through outdoor art exhibits and watch dance troops and the like at Arts Alive, hosted by the Arts Council on Maxwell and Franklin Streets. The award-winning Dogwood Festival brings you Historic Hauntings: A Ghastly Ghost Tour, a haunted hayride narrated with tales of “eerie encounters and mysterious happenings of downtown Fayetteville.” This tour takes you to historic sites and around downtown on Oct. 14-16 and 21-23. Rides begin at 6:30 p.m. and depart from the Liberty Point building at 145 Person St. on the half hour until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance.
Hallows Eve Cemetery Walk
City Historian Bruce Daws will lead a walking tour through Cross Creek Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 28 giving details on people and events that have taken place in the cemetery. Tours are an hour long and begin at 7 p.m. with the last tour at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 and proceeds go towards the restoration of Cross Creek Cemetery.

The Feral Art Collective will be hosting a Zombie Grind at The Rock Shop Music Hall the weekend of Oct. 22-24. Most events, including live painting, bands and a zombie prom, will take place at The Rock Shop Music Hall, although a Fayetteville Jazz Funeral and Zombie Walk will take place at Arts Alive at 4th Friday. FYP Halloween Hike
On Saturday, Oct. 30, Fayetteville Young Professionals will be hosting its second Halloween Hike, including a costume contest and an organized pub crawl. Fayetteville Young Professionals members and their guests must register in advance for this event. Visit www.fayyp.org for more information.
Downtown Trick or Treat
The merchants of the Fayetteville Downtown Alliance will be treating pint-size ghosties and ghouls with candy delights (while supplies last) on Friday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. Halloween trick or treat bags are available in the more information, visit www.fayettevillealliance.com.
