Another birdwalk will be held 8 a.m. Saturday at 1000 Sale Lane. The Sacramento River Discovery Center guided Bird Walk will start at 8 a.m. Saturday at 1000 Sale Lane. Dr. David Dahnke will guide participants through parts of the Red Bluff Recreation Area’s 488 acres to search for some of the new and different species of birds that have been sighted in the last few months by Bruce Deuel, retired Biologist from the California Department of Fish & Game. “I was very excited when Bruce contacted me with a number of new listings recently,” said Ben Hughes, SRDC board of directors chairman. “With this many additions we will need to update our Bird Watching guide. With the recent rains we know that winter is com- ing and it is a great time to visit this watchable wildlife area” Hughes said he is hopeful for another beautiful day like the one in September, but no matter what the weather there is always something new and different for people to see. Participants should bring binoculars, a bird guide and a camera.and wear weather appropriate clothing and good sturdy shoes. The center is a non-profit environmental education organization and is open Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 4 pm. It is within the Mendocino National For- est’s Red Bluff Recreation Area.
