Be prepared to set aside one hour for your experience. Once inside, you will take a 45minute self-guided and narrated tour. October classes for seniors REDDING – Simpson University for Seniors is offering the following classes starting on Oct. 7: World Religions: This class will provide an overview of six major world religions (Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Folk religion), examining the way each one relates to and contrasts with Christianity. It will consider the seeds of revelation in each religion and seek to help students better relate to adherents of each. Presented by Dawn Bulchandani, an adjunct instructor in the School of Continuing Studies at Simpson University. History and Life through the Eyes of Art: This course surveys painting, sculpture, and architecture in the West from early Greek times to the present with special attention to the interaction of art and ideas. Skills in art analysis and appreciation are developed, and special attention is given to Christian art and the role and strategic importance of art, the visual, and the imagination in contemporary society. Presented by Dr. Brian Larsen, associate professor of English at Simpson University. Simpson University for Seniors is a program designed for adults of any age who are interested in studying a variety of topics in monthlong, not-for-credit courses. The classes meet 10:20-11:20 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on Simpson's campus, for a total of 10 one-hour instructional sessions. Courses are taught by university professors and professionals in their field of expertise, and there are no tests, grades or homework. Two courses are offered each month through May.
