Always Alpha Phi Thank You, Generous Sisters and Friends 4 T hank you everyone listed below who has contributed to Omicron's 2013 annual campaign thus far. Graduating AF seniors at the Columns T Omicron Celebrates Successful Spring and Gears Up for the Fall he Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi ended the 2013 school year with a bang! Alpha Phi paired with the men of Alpha Gamma Rho to bring home a fifth-place finish in Greek Week. Finishing first place in banner, first place in service, second place in blood, and third place in Fling brought us to the top. Our pairing was also proud to include this year's Greek Week King! Thank you to our dedicated liaisons and directors for their hard work and dedication. Aside from volunteering at the Dream Factory Poker Tournament for Greek Week, our sisters could be found helping throughout the Columbia community. Twice during the semester our sisters volunteered at the local food bank; the second time we were joined by the men of Beta Upsilon Chi. We also welcomed Sigma Alpha Epsilon back to campus by participating with them in community service. Our chapters spent a Saturday morning flying kites with local school children. These experiences were both rewarding and introduced us to new friends. The chapter wrapped up the semester with Fleur-de-lis and Ivy Leaves, a stars-and-stripes-themed party with the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma. While our sisters were at home and abroad over the summer, our beautiful chapter house received a fabulous facelift. Laminate floors were installed in the bedrooms while tigerstriped carpeting was added to the upstairs hallways. The sun porch and TV room were redesigned to include fresh, vibrant colors and new furniture. Many memories will be made in these "new" rooms. As we begin the new school year, the chapter, recruitment team, and advisors are still celebrating a terrific formal recruitment that yielded 85 new members, bringing Omicron's total roll call to 300. Alpha Phi added an outstanding group of women to Omicron's sisterhood this fall! We are excited to announce Alpha Phi is paired with the men of Sigma Pi and Tau Kappa Epsilon for Mizzou's 102nd Homecoming on October 25-26. With an overall theme of cities, we will portray New York City. We're confident it will be an exceptional showing, following our second-place finish in last spring's RAMS, where we also had the Big Apple as our theme. Alpha Phi's Omicron Chapter is already off to another amazing year! Many thanks to our alumnae and advisors for their continued support. AOE, Kara Wogtech '11 Chapter President kmwwmf@mail.missouri.edu In the spring 2013 newsletter, you read about the "nosy ladies" and summer plans to update the house. With the generous support of our alumnae, we made renovations to the flooring, TV room, sun porch, and security system. As you can see from the photo below, our kitchen desperately needs updating. All contributions to the annual campaign will go toward this essential project.
