2B Daily News – Wednesday, September 4, 2013 Commerce business&enterprise M&M Ranch House named Business of the Month Newspaper celebrates milestone, to host event • New Member – The Corning Chamber of Commerce welcomes these new members: Petro Stopping Centers, 2151 South Ave., Corning, CA 96021. Phone, (530) 824-0715, and Tehama County Republican Central Committee, P.O. Box 8747, Red Bluff, CA, 96080. Phone, (530) 200-0091. • Corning in the Evening – The Corning Observer, is celebrating its 125 year anniversary this year and will host the monthly get together next Thursday, September 12th, at 5:30 pm. The Observer is located at 1208 Solano Street. Attending these monthly events is a great way for our members to socialize and network with other members. We encourage you to take an hour or so to come by and meet and greet other business members as well as interested citizens, find out what is happening in the community and have some refreshments. Bring your business card for a chance to win a door prize. • Corning Cash – If you are a merchant in Corning and a member of the Corning Chamber of Commerce and have not already notified the Chamber of your participation in the Corning Cash Program, we urge you to contact us soon. Corning Cash has already been distributed to individuals who are ready to spend their cash in Corning, but they need to know where they can spend it. We have a list of participating members but it is ongoing and we would like to complete it soon. You may get a call or a visit to explain the program more thoroughly, but if you read this article and would like to know more, please call the Chamber at 8245550 to get the details. All members were sent an email the second week of July and then August and on August 12, describing the program and how it works. The program will not cost you anything and the Chamber does not make money from this. It is a way to get people to spend their money in Corning. You may purchase, if you like, Corning Cash as a gift card to give for a birthday, anniversary or as a reward. It is like US Currency, and all cash is in duplicate with a serial number on it. We hope that you will respond and be a part of this program that we anticipate to grow and become a great way to keep dollars local. It has been used in other communities successfully for years and it is a way for the Chamber to give something to our members. • Farmers' Market – The plan was to keep the Farmers' Market going until the last Thursday of September, however, most of the produce vendors are running out of produce so we may close earlier than the 26th. There will be a market tomorrow from 5-8 pm, but we will keep you posted as to whether there will be more. Thank you to those who have participated as vendors and for those who have supported the market by coming and making your purchases here. In case you did not know, the market is located at Northside Park on West Street and is open every Thursday. Many have commented that they love the location and it has been very successful. We hope to grow it even more next year. • Luncheon – Don't forget the VFW Ladies Auxiliary's Autumn Luncheon tomorrow from 11 am to 1 pm, at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1620 Solano Street. They will be serving tostados, rice and bottled water for $6.00. This is a fund raiser for the "Adopt a Military Family". ∑ Jubilee – The Tehama County Museum's Annual Jubilee is this Saturday, September 7. There will be a breakfast by the Red Bluff Kiwanis Club, live entertainment, venders in the park, art show, fiber arts demos, Judy's Country Store.
