Arrests • Alexander Love Acosta Jr., 22, Corning was arrested Friday at Marin and First streets for felony possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance and misdemeanor receiving known stolen property. Bail was $43,000. • Christopher William Brewer, 23, Redding was arrested Thursday at USA Gas Station for felony possession of a narcotic, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs in prison and misdemeanors of being under the influence of a controlled substance, petty theft, obstruction and possession of an opium pipe. Brewer was arrested after attempting to flee from police following a shoplifting incident at Walmart. Bail was $57,000. • Jeffrey Louis Castro, 35, Corning was arrested Sunday in the alley behind 5th Street in Corning for felony transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Bail $43,000. • Frank Anthony Chiricuzio, 51, Red Bluff was arrested Saturday for felony inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
