Our Acts of Brightness
crew has been
surprising folks in
Cullman, Murfreesboro,
Smyrna, and Huntsville
over the past few
months as part of our
75th Anniversar y celebrations.
This enthusiastic group of employees
has bought groceries, paid for gas, and
helped with utility bills, and we're just
getting started. As of March, we have
helped more than 275 families.
e Cullman Branch Manager, Tammy
Lott, one of the Brightness crew members,
told me about a recent moment in a local
grocery store. She met a mother who
came in to buy a simple loaf of bread
and a few basic items. As they talked,
Tammy learned that the woman's children
were home with little to eat. Without
hesitation, Tammy walked her through the
store, helping her choose the groceries she
needed to care for her family.

e mother picked out healthy foods
and fresh produce and walked away
with a cartful of food and more. It's
moments like these that remind us
of who we are and what we stand for.
Our cooperative exists to lift people
up, especially those of modest means.
I don't tell you this to pat ourselves
on the back, but to show that our
philosophy of "People Helping People"
is more than mere words to us. It's a
way of life! Stories like these remind
us that service leaves a legacy, and
that legacy continues to open doors
for the members and communities we
are privileged to serve.
Watch for those blue Acts
of Brightness shirts in your
neighborhood, and thank you for
celebrating 75 years with us!
