Omaha is the No. 8 seed in the NCHC
Tournament for the first time. The Mavericks
and Fighting Hawks are meeting for the fourth
time in the NCHC Quarterfinals and second
straight year, though last year's series was in
Omaha. UND has won all three previous playoff
series, doing so in Grand Forks in 2018 in two
games, and in Omaha in 2023 (three games)
and 2025 (two games). The Mavericks did
beat North Dakota in the 2024 Frozen Faceoff
Semifinals in their lone trip to the NCHC
Semifinals.
