The Pioneers had two players earn
February honors from the NCHC, as senior
Rieger Lorenz was named Forward of the
Month while freshman Johnny Hicks was
chosen as Goaltender of the Month. This
is the first career monthly award for each
player. Lorenz registered points in each of
the six games during the month, including
a five-game goal-scoring streak. Hicks
went unbeaten in each of the six starts in
February at 5-0-1 and led the league in wins
and goals-against average (1.50).
