Cozy Winter Activities for
the Budget-Minded
Do a potluck-style dinner party.
You can keep costs down by cooking
something inexpensive and asking your
friends to bring an appetizer, side dish,
or dessert to share. Or do an ice cream
sundae party instead! You provide
the ice cream, and each guest brings a
different topping.
Host a game day. Invite friends who
like a little competition and ask them to
bring their favorite board games or card
games. Puzzles are an option too!
Color or get crafty.
A coloring book can
be fun; so is cutting
snowflakes out of
printer paper (tape
them to your windows
for a winter wonderland effect). Go
online for a list of craft ideas that can be
completed using what you have on hand.
If you're looking for other ways to
cut costs for activities, check out the
discounts on the Redstone website at
redfcu.org/personal/tool-discounts.
When it's cold outside, you can cozy up
at home with these low-cost ideas. Make
memories with your friends and family
or just take time for yourself.
Make it a movie
night. Create a
special atmosphere
with popcorn,
hot cocoa, comfy
blankets, and the lights turned low.
Bonus, you can wear your PJs!
Give yourself a spa-
like experience. Turn
on soft music, light a
candle, and maybe pour a
glass of wine. Your time
could include lounging in
a steamy bubble bath or
soaking your feet in a tub of hot water
with bath oils and sea salt. Be sure to
send a "do not disturb" message ahead
of time to others in your home.
