Peninsular Reflects
on Convention
A
lumni, undergraduates, and delegates from
Alpha Delta Phi chapters around the nation
came together at Convention in New Orleans
this August. The city's history and culture
complemented an important weekend for learning
and gathering. Delegate meetings provided us
with clearer perspectives on various chapters,
their operations, and the hurdles they encounter.
Convention provides participants with the
opportunity to witness the organizational meetings,
the traditions and history of the fraternity, the voting
processes, and how decisions for awards are made.
In my opinion, seeing the procedures that maintain
order and fairness in the fraternity structure is
highly valuable and can be translated to our
own chapter. The guest speakers provided topics
such as outreach and recruitment management
alongside concrete steps dedicated to improving
member engagement and on-campus presence in
the depiction of recruitment. These lessons aid us
directly, reinforcing the chapter for the coming
year. Furthermore, networking with chapter
presidents from all over the country was a truly
amazing experience that taught me so much as
a future leader of the fraternity. Beyond formal
sessions, we toured New Orleans, including the
food and culture that gives the city its one-of-a-
kind energy.
Thank You, Alumni!
This wonderful opportunity would not have been
possible without the generosity of our alumni.
Your support allowed me to attend, learn, and
represent our chapter at the national level as a
rising sophomore looking to be heavily involved
in the next few years. I am very grateful for the
investment you made in facilitating both me and
my chapter's growth and for ensuring our chapter's
voice was part of the conversation shaping the
fraternity's future.
