The university, and in particular Fraternity & Sorority Life, appreciates the leadership Alpha Tau Omega undergraduates have provided the UNL community for almost 130 years. It's a pleasure to get to work with your undergraduate members through their leadership positions across campus. In addition, your alumni have assumed key business, professional, political, and academic positions throughout the nation. There's ample cause for pride. I am pleased to report the fraternity and sorority community continues to thrive UNL. Our data shows us that members in the Interfraternity community have a first to second year retention rate of 91% versus 80% for non- members. We also know the four-year graduation rate for Interfraternity members is 20 points higher than non- members. The living spaces provided by chapters play an important part in creating the Husker residential experience on this campus. Many fraternities and sororities are planning and carrying out renovations to improve the membership experience. These projects can only happen with the support of alumni. The decision to provide an excellent living and social environment with first-rate study and meeting accommodations will enhance the overall university experience for our undergraduates. Fraternity and sorority members remain loyal to their university. A high proportion of leadership in the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and the University of Nebraska Foundation are alumni members of the FSL community. A 2021 Gallup survey reinforced how important the fraternity and sorority life experience in college is to alumni after they graduate. The survey showed alumni members felt more prepared for life after college, they're more likely to thrive across their personal and professional lives, and they're more likely to be engaged with their alma maters and in their communities. This commitment is a direct output of fraternity and sorority membership. A strong university depends on talented undergraduates and supportive alumni. Your support of this capital campaign will help ensure that tradition continues. Best wishes for much continued success. Go Big Red! Sincerely, Leigh R. It's a chance to give back, reconnect with brothers, and help ensure the chapter remains strong for future generations. My hope is that this effort brings all of our brothers together to support and preserve the lifelong bond of our brotherhood." –Pete Balerud '81, Campaign Board Member UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN Preserving Our Legacy, Planning for Tomorrow
