I N T H E W E E K S leading up to COUTURE, the
skyrocketing price of gold was on everyone's mind.
Based on the numerous conversations surrounding the
subject that I was having with designers, I anticipated
seeing a lot of "alternative" materials hitting the 2025
COUTURE scene. While designer Silvia Furmanovich
dominated with pieces crafted in wood, marquetry and
Rudraksha seeds, there were more juicy gemstones
than I can even wrap my head around, and enamel is
clearly experiencing a renaissance. I was surprised to
see a lavish use of gold everywhere!
Buddha Mama introduced a
vibrant new enamel story during
COUTURE, Swirl, which was
giving all the best Buddha Mama
vibes and caused a big buzz at the event.
But their gold-intensive Celestial collection
continued to be a primary draw to their salon.
e sun, moon and stars have never looked more
beautiful than when seen in Buddha Mama's impeccably
crafted, 20k gold creations, and the weight of these pieces
bring gravitas to even the most whimsical motifs.
