F
or C.H. Overbay '72, joining Alpha Gamma Rho
provided a chance to develop strong bonds with
like-minded Collegians while furthering his personal
development. He remains grateful for his Fraternity
experience and is supporting the Return to Razorback
Road campaign so future Alpha Iota brothers can have an
excellent house to call home.
BONDS BUILT TO LAST
As an AGR member, C.H. appreciated the day-to-day
moments he shared with brothers living, studying, and
socializing in the Chapter house. He enjoyed being among
goal-oriented young men who shared the Fraternity's highs
and lows while building lifelong bonds.
"It helped me forge my own path and become my own
person while still providing a secure and safe environment.
It also provided men for me to look up to as mentors along
the way who, even today, I can still call upon after 53
years."
C.H. is always glad to reconnect with fellow AGR Alumni
decades beyond college. He doesn't take for granted the
times they gather as a group for various social and sporting
events, Founder's Day celebrations, or to celebrate the life of a brother who's passed on.
"After attending a Founder's Day and reconnecting with a lot of my brothers, my desire to afford
today's young men the same opportunity I was presented 50+ years ago is very important to me."
AGR DEVOTION
While Fraternity life has changed and evolved since C.H.'s college years, he recognizes Alpha Iota
Chapter's ongoing commitment to academic excellence and community involvement.
"Their grade points, accomplishments on campus, community service involvement, and the
amount of respect they receive from university and community leaders is second to none."
C.H. has prioritized his own AGR commitment in recent years by serving on the Alumni Board
of Directors and joining the Return to Razorback Road capital campaign. "I desire to be a part of
an effort that will continue to add to Alpha Iota Chapter's long-lasting legacy at the University of
Arkansas."
ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT MATTERS
By keeping up with Alumni through calls, emails, and sponsoring social gatherings, C.H. gained a
deeper understanding of the value of lifelong AGR bonds. He views the Chapter house campaign
as a remarkable opportunity for brothers to reconnect and commit themselves to Alpha Gamma
Rho's ongoing goal, "To Make Better Men."
"It was an incredible experience to develop accountability-driven relationships with brothers
who share the same goals. These brothers are still committed to each other and to Alpha Iota
Chapter today."
"THE AGR EXPERIENCE
DEFINITELY HELPED
SHAPE MY LIFE INTO
WHAT IT IS TODAY."
