appa Kappa is looking to host events

local cities. We welcome the extra help to

lpha Chi Educational Corporation contributes to the success of our undergraduate Alpha Chi
students in many ways: awarding a variety of scholarships, purchasing educational equipment
and academic resources for the chapter house, and hosting recognition of academic achievements.
Each of these activities serves to honor our students' commitment to academic excellence.
This year, we offered a "live-in" scholarship to sophomores and juniors to incentivize more Alpha
Chis to live in the chapter house during the next academic year. The Educational Corporation
values and encourages the leadership and consistency that upper-year students can provide to
their sisters in the house. This year's recipient of the $2,000 scholarship is Haylee Wang '23, a
sophomore majoring in advertising, PR, and journalism who serves as VP of diversity, equity, and
inclusion for Xi Chapter.
In addition to scholarships, the Ed Corporation has purchased beautiful study "pods" in the
downstairs study area (installed this spring) that have already been quite popular at the house. We
also honor excellent academic performance in various ways, including gift cards, swag, and special
study events like helping to sponsor a coffee truck. We have also supported the VP of intellectual
development to attend the national AXO convention.
We continue to pursue our goal of establishing an annual scholarship in honor of longtime loyal
and active Xi alumna Willie Shafer '53. We need to raise approximately $20,000 in designated
Willie donations to have a sustainable scholarship using interest; we are not quite there yet.
