Thursday, August 26, 2010 – Daily News – 7A Shop, Walk & Dine in Historic DOWNTOWN Red Bluff We welcome you to Downtown Historic Red Bluff! We appreciate your business and your support in these challenging economic times. Gold Exchange In 1994 Rudy Christians was looking for a location to move his Stockton store. We had looked at several cities and Chico was high on his list of possibilities. On the drive back from Chico we stopped in Red Bluff to have lunch. We got into a conversation with the waitress about her town of Red Bluff and what a wonderful place it was to work and raise a family. With our curiosity being peaked about this beautiful town she called home we proceeded to drive around town to get a feel for this community. There was a mother pushing her child in a stroller out for an afternoon walk. A couple was getting married in the gazebo and business men were walking to their favorite restaurant for lunch. Furniture, Glassware, Jewelry, Historical Photos, Pictures (530) 527-0360 629 Main St., Red Bluff, CA Wed - Sat. 10am - 4pm We decided to walk about downtown and look at several buildings that were available and might meet our needs. As we strolled down Main Street we talked to the shop owners and admired the beautiful historic buildings. Could Red Bluff be the town we could call home? After much consideration Rudy purchased the Historic brick building at 413 Walnut Street that was built in 1889. We moved our family and The Gold Exchange opened its doors in June of 1994. Over the years The Gold Exchange has served our community by making instant cash loans, cashing local payroll checks and selling quality new and estate jewelry at reasonable prices. In 2001 we purchased Crosby’s Jewelry and Hearing Aid Service at 423 Walnut Street expanding the store to 5,000 sq. ft. In 2006 we began manufacturing our own unique jewelry line called Angels Among Us and Creations by Cary utilizing the spiritual aspects of minerals and gems. Rudy passed away in November leaving his partner, Jessie Woods, to continue his legacy of “Come in and be treated like family”. For 16 years the store motto has been “Something for Everyone”. From DVD’s, musical instruments, power tools, game systems and coins we have affordable gifts for all ages. Whether your 5 or 85 come and visit us and we’ll make you a deal you can’t refuse.
