PAGE 2 TAU TOPICS W hen we last featured Rodney G.B. Clements '92 in the Fall 2018 issue of Tau Topics, his company—RN Enterprises Infusion Services, Inc.—had just been founded and was experiencing exciting early growth. A former Navy Nurse turned entrepreneur, Rodney had already carved out an impressive path, but in the years since, several new and life-changing developments have prompted us to revisit his story. Today, RN Enterprises is one of the largest nurse-run infusion therapy providers in the country, with operations in 40 states, 10 offices in Florida, and a Team of 500 Nurses. Headquartered in Jacksonville, the company specializes in bringing hospital-quality IV therapy directly into patients' homes. "It's become my life," Rodney said. "And I'm really enjoying it. Just about anything done in the hospital can now be performed in the comfort of your own home." Building the company hasn't come without its challenges, particularly in recruiting top-tier nurses with the hands-on IV skills needed for home infusion. But RN Enterprises' nurse-led model has become a differentiator in an industry often dominated by business executives or private equity. "Our culture is built by nurses, for nurses," Rodney explained. "That's why our team is so strong." Outside of work, Rodney's personal life has also transformed in recent years. On his 50th birthday—October 1, 2022—he married his long-time girlfriend, who is also a nurse and soon after became a father to twin daughters. "It's definitely changed my perspective," he said. "I've traveled to 59 countries and lived a full life, but now I'm focused on raising my girls and building something meaningful at home and at the office." Rodney has remained actively connected to the University of Florida's College of Nursing, where he serves on the Alumni Council and recently gave the commencement address to the graduating Class of 2025—a moment he described as one of the greatest honors of his life. He has also been invited to speak at upcoming white coat ceremonies and is in the process of establishing an endowment to support students facing financial emergencies. Travel and philanthropy remain important to Rodney, who has been involved with the Florida Africa Foundation, supporting healthcare initiatives across the continent. More recently, he has begun assembling a rapid-response nursing team to support FEMA and Red Cross disaster efforts. "We have nearly 100 expert nurses ready to deploy on short notice," he said. "It's a powerful asset." Through it all, Theta Chi has remained a foundational part of Rodney's journey. "Joining Theta Chi was one of the most significant decisions of my life," he said. "It taught me how to work with different personalities and appreciate people from all walks of life—skills that matter just as much as what you learn in a classroom." He stays in close touch with his brothers and hosts an annual beach weekend each August for friends and fellow alumni. Looking ahead, Rodney is excited about continuing to expand his business, possibly even internationally, but his highest priorities are clear: "I want to raise the best daughters I can and continue building the best team of infusion nurses in the country!" Indeed, I say, if you'd like to catch up with Rodney, you can email him at rodney.gb.clements@rn-enterprises.com or visit rn-enterprises.com. Nurse, Leader, Father A New ChApter for rodNey G.B.
