CONGRATULATIONS, SENIORS! What made Tri Delta the right choice for you? Who or what inspired you to join? A: Growing up, I would hear great stories about Tri Delta from my aunts and cousins who were all Tri Deltas at various universities. ey encouraged me to join a sorority, especially Tri Delta, and of course they all wrote me glowing recommendations. During recruitment, I could see the special bond and understood why my aunts and cousins loved it. Once I pledged, they sent me all their old Tri Delta gear and jewelry. How did being a member of eta Iota help shape you as a person? A: Living with so many different women under one roof really helps you learn interpersonal skills and how to work as a team. It also provides a safe place to practice leadership skills in roles that support the house. is carried over into my professional corporate life. What are some of your favorite memories from your undergraduate Tri Delta years? A: I will always remember the fun Barn Parties, Firebug, Formals, Powder Puff Football and University Sing. Tell us about any ongoing connections you've had with Tri Delta since college. A: Facebook has kept me connected to many from my Tri Delta years. I have lived in various states and have still managed to find a sister or two. I recently moved back to Kansas City, and I found out I have a Tri Delta sister living right in my neighborhood. What advice would you offer to undergraduate sisters? A: Use your time at Tri Delta to grow your personal relationships and leadership skills. It is a nurturing, safe and fun place to learn and grow. I am still amazed at how much each sister has accomplished in their lifetimes. Tri Delta was a great incubator and springboard for our future lives. Can you share a bit about your life since college? A: Most of my sisters knew I was really focused on finding a strong company to launch my management and marketing career. I spent my career in the pharmaceutical industry in brand marketing and global marketing. Now retired, I have thrown myself into my bucket list of scuba diving, triathlons, RVing and volunteer work. While living in Sedona, Arizona, I joined P.E.O., a sisterhood of women throughout the world that raises funds for women's educational advancement. It reminds me of Tri Delta. My other passions are animal rescue and helping the homeless. After seeing the dire needs of homeless people in Arizona, I became a founding member of Hope House of Sedona, which is a transitional home for homeless mothers with children.
