T his semester tested our resolve, but through teamwork and determination, Phi Kappa Tau has emerged stronger and ready for an incredible 2025-26 school year. We kicked things off by welcoming 11 new brothers into the Alpha Alpha class—our first with a double-letter name. Hailing from places as far- flung as Barcelona and Hong Kong, this diverse group completed their initiation in March, forging bonds and embracing our fraternity's values. Despite implementing conservative financial strategies, we successfully preserved our cherished traditions, including a memorable formal and our annual Slope Day pregame. A major milestone was passing our Certificate of Compliance inspection after extensive back porch renovations, made possible by the dedication of BoD President Paul Martorano '00 and the craftsmanship of Dennis Rose. Their efforts have restored our ability to host registered in- house events, a privilege we had missed for the past year. With these hurdles behind us, we're eager to embrace a fresh start. The future is bright, and we'd love for you to be part of it. Stay tuned for more! In phi, Aaron Gordon-Vera '24 Incoming Chapter President A Strong Semester Welcome, New Members! Welcome, New Members! Celebrating Successes Cornell President Michael Kotlikoff, father of Emmett Kotlikoff '13, and chapter president Arnav Kamulkar '23 chat during a visit by Kotlikoff, Dean of Students Marla Love, and Greek life staff to the house in January. The visit came during the first recruitment event of the spring, as the president toured fraternities. Alumni Reunion Weekend Alumni Reunion Weekend PRESIDENTS TOGETHER The Return to a Place That Was Special in Youth E very June, our chapter house welcomes back alumni for Reunion Weekend to reminisce at the place where they shared so many experiences. Our hosts, Scott Conroe '01 and Bob Cundall '83, both Board of Directors members purchased munchies and drinks, set out yearbooks and composites, and waited to see who showed up. This year there were nine brothers from the five-year class, three from the 20-year, and one each from 2014, 2015, 2021, 1985 and 1965, plus spouses and children. They had the usual questions about how the house is structurally holding up (complicated topic) and how the chapter is doing (very well, about 60 strong, 3.6 GPA, good social calendar). Their memories came alive with stories about roommates, parties, living in the house, ways they'd helped each other get through Cornell and figure out life, and how their careers were going. Dave "Rocky" Regelski '02 had not been back since graduating in 2005. He and classmates Dan Schiff '02 and Andy (Riesenberg) Naja-Riese '02 brought their spouses and children, showing them the rooms they lived in as students. The men from 2020 recalled having to leave that March due to the pandemic, without a commencement ceremony, returning the following year for their own ceremony. They filled the house with laughter and were pleased to meet two current brothers, former alumni relations chair Phillip Chao '22—newly graduated—and rising junior Ryan Ma '24. The two oldest returnees were 1965 graduate Bill McClellan and 1985 graduate Joe Januario. In phi, Scott Conroe '01
