Beta Theta Pi Our chapter of Beta Theta Pi is looking stronger than ever going into the 2025-26 academic year! It is once again a proud time to be a Gamma Lambda Beta, as the house continues to make clear its standard of excellence in all areas! The foundation of our success begins with selecting young men with the potential to become Men of Principle and carrying the torch of excellence passed down by our alumni. GLIMPSE AT THE CHAPTER We concluded the spring semester with 173 active members and pledges, remaining the largest fraternity on campus. As we inch closer to the fall semester, we anticipate adding eight men who pledged in the spring to that number. The head of recruitment, Jaden Scamehorn '26, and his recruitment team have tirelessly searched for high school graduates with the character and potential to one day bear the letters of Beta Theta Pi. We look forward to giving such Men of Principle a place to belong. We also express a debt of gratitude and thanks to those alumni who have referred such men and assisted in the recruitment process. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Gamma Lambda Chapter once again excelled academically, as 57 men achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA. The IFC and all-men's GPAs this spring were 3.34 and 3.2, respectively. Despite being the largest house on campus, our men achieved an impressive 3.6 overall. Our chapter's GPA ranks second among all fraternities, trailing a chapter that has roughly half as many members. This marks the 10th consecutive semester of Gamma Lambda exceeding a 3.5 GPA. With an Academic Assistance Plan that is constantly being revised and that has shifted to a proactive approach of helping our men who are struggling, the chapter looks forward to furthering our pursuit of academic excellence. IFC RECOGNITION The men of Gamma Lambda brought home some extra hardware from IFC's 2024 Greek Awards to an already full trophy case. For the first time in the award's approximately 90-year history, Gamma Lambda Chapter has won the Dean Troxel Most Outstanding Fraternity Award. The award is given annually to the chapter at Oklahoma State University that excels the most in all aspects of fraternity life. Additionally, Beta Theta Pi was awarded Most Outstanding Scholarship, Most Outstanding Chapter Management, Most Outstanding Campus Involvement, Runner-Up in College and Community Relations, and Runner-Up in Member Development. Our men of principle are proud to receive IFC recognition for what we already know to be true of the rare culture found at Beta. We are also proud to celebrate the immense impact our chapter has had on its members, their families, and OSU's campus. FROM THE STAGE TO THE FIELD Gamma Lambda is no stranger to bringing home hardware, and it didn't stop at the 2024 Greek Awards. In Varsity Revue, our men, along with the wonderful women of Alpha Chi Omega, finished in fifth place. Additionally, Dylan Juen '27 and Landon Brown '27 were awarded Best Male Actor and Best Male Vocalist, respectively. Shortly after, our brothers and the talented women of Kappa Alpha Theta took to the stage again for Spring Sing. Our men placed second overall, along with awards for Best Opener, Best Song Number, and Best Song Choice. While many brothers brought home hardware from the stage, our men's athletic abilities continue to do the same. Along with many intramural wins, Betas made their presence known in many sports-based philanthropy events throughout Greek life. Those include first-place showings in the Sigma Nu Temple Classic, JGL Scott Carter Classic, Gamma Phi Moonball, and Alpha Chi Volley Against Violence. The BRIAC Court continues to be a staple of our chapter, hosting a successful King of the Court basketball event for the third year in a row and raising $1,300 for StillwaterStrong, a relief effort for friends and neighbors of our community who were affected by the Stillwater wildfires. Along with our very own King of the Court fundraiser, Beta showed our commitment to our community by also hosting the OSU Hockey Club's Street Hockey fundraiser for clean water in Zimbabwe, JGL's Pickleball Fundraiser for the Scott Carter Foundation, a Red Cross Blood Drive, the Spears vs. CEAT Basketball Game, and many other events. Looking forward to the fall semester, we are excited for our pairing with the outstanding women of Alpha Delta Pi for Homecoming 2025. This will mark Gamma Lambda's sixth time participating in OSU's historic dec-building competition. We are confident in Kaleb Barnes '26 to lead our Homecoming team's efforts and to continue the hard work they have already put in this spring and summer. CONCLUSION On behalf of the active members, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the alumni whose presence, involvement, and support have propelled the Gamma Lambda Chapter to new heights. Your impact cannot be fully expressed or quantified, and we remain committed to finding tangible ways to honor your contributions in the years to come. Beta is distinguished from all other houses, not because of achievements but for the men inside the house and those whose footsteps we follow in.
