Brothers enjoy formal in Nashville with our new sweetheart. A group of brothers celebrate a job well done after volunteering to plant trees at Carver STEAM Academy with Trees Atlanta. The Glazebrook Gazette Undergraduates Share Successes Beta Iota Chapter at Georgia Institute of Technology continues to thrive! T his spring, we saw the initiation of five new members, which is a massive improvement over our two new additions this time last year. We have also already begun our fall semester recruitment, trying to better align ourselves with the "365" recruiting mentality prescribed by our national organization. This year, we were awarded with a White Distinction by Georgia Tech in the first year of their new program to honor fraternities on campus based upon their philanthropy, recruitment, and campus involvement. Next year, we aim to take home the top distinction: Gold. This semester has been filled with incredible philanthropic endeavors by our brothers. Our co-philanthropy chairmen, Mark Shirah '23 and Josh Cills '21, have worked tirelessly to provide as many opportunities as possible. This has allowed us to donate 2, 920 hours of our time and $4,697! Our biggest event this semester was titled Chick-Fil-Late, where we sold Chick-Fil-A breakfast sandwiches after they had stopped serving them in the restaurant for the day. This event alone generated $407! This is an incredible improvement over our 2024 numbers and is putting us on a better track for success. We are also designing a new signature event to be debuted in the fall. On campus, our brothers are strongly encouraged to interact with clubs outside of ATO. This has led to a chapter average of 1.8 campus organizations per brother, with 25% of them being involved in three or more clubs. We have also been strongly pushing our brothers to work harder in the classroom. In summer 2024, we had our whole house renovated, which included a new study room. This area is equipped with two whiteboards, five standing desks, and high-quality monitors to give brothers more equipment for academic success. This has resulted in our median chapter GPA increasing, and we're expecting continued success. The chapter is in a wonderful position, and I look forward to continued growth and improvement!
