W e are excited to share the latest updates from Washington Alpha, starting with the impressive contributions of Dan Bariault '74, our new vice president of housing. Dan has been working diligently to enhance the property and improve the experience for our members. His summer plans include various projects to improve living conditions and create a more purposeful community atmosphere. We are also pleased to announce the renewal of the SigEp Chapter Success Specialist role, which was previously held by Dan Bordenkircher. This position has brought significant value to our Fraternity, and although SigEp HQ will be assigning a new individual to this role, we are confident the positive impact will continue. Additionally, our recent Executive Officer Transition Retreat was a great success. The retreat focused on upperclassmen engagement, risk management, Chapter culture, and accountability. The undergraduate officers and alumni team collaboratively established a mission statement: "SigEp is a home where members will flourish and be proud to walk through our red door. As a beacon of leadership and inspiration, we cultivate a culture of unity, pride, and personal growth, leaving a lasting legacy for years to come." We also created several SMART goals to guide our progress. Our Chapter's hard work and dedication were recognized with the spring 2025 Yard of the Semester award. In April, Pullman's mayor, Francis Benjamin, presented an award certificate to Chapter President Reed Scott '27. We also received a letter of commendation addressed to Headquarters from RJ Lott, the city's director of community development. Maintaining our property in such a high-traffic location can be challenging, but our members consistently rise to the occasion and do an outstanding job! We look forward to continuing this work and making further strides in the development of Washington Alpha SigEp!
