The MS Beta Post PAGE 2 T o say that this past semester was successful for the Mississippi Beta Chapter would be an understatement. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life of the University of Mississippi did not let our achievements go unnoticed. PI PHI PROWESS For the 2024 academic year, Mississippi Beta was awarded Excellence in Personal and Professional Development, Excellence in Civic Engagement, Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Chancellor's Cup, which is the highest award that can be bestowed upon a fraternity/sorority at the university. We are incredibly proud and honored to have received these awards. In addition to chapter awards, we tied for fifth overall highest GPA (3.41) for the fall 2024 semester out of 33 fraternities/sororities on our campus. Our largest fall philanthropy event, and a favorite on our campus, Wing Ching, raised $59,365 for The Literacy Fund and Friendship Fund at Pi Beta Phi Foundation. Mississippi Beta recently held our main spring philanthropy event, Pizookies, and we were blessed to raise more than $8,000 while enjoying delicious cookies and laughter with everyone who visited! Because of extensive fundraising efforts, we were a top 10 chapter for foundation giving in 2024! Our Champions are Readers ® program is also back in session for this spring, where our members go every week to read to the children of Bramlett Elementary School participating in after-school programs. Our fabulous Director of Service and Philanthropy, Madison Buschardt '23, has taken the initiative to implement a curriculum for the students so that every visit is unique and engaging. A WELCOMING HOME Mississippi Beta is proud of our chapter house. It is home to 65 members, and the wait list to live-in continues to exponentially grow every year! The desire to live in our beautiful home is wonderfully captured by Avery Kruthers '22: "Living in the house is one of the sincerest forms of community you can have on campus. From raiding each other's closets to late-night talks, it's filled with laughter and love. I've chosen to live in for three years now because there's nothing better than just rolling out of bed, getting some yummy breakfast and getting to wake up in a place that feels like home." Our chapter house is such an incredible way for all 597 members to connect and maintain a genuine sisterhood despite our enormous size. We are so grateful to everyone who contributes to helping our chapter thrive!
