T his year marks Beta Mu's 105th uninterrupted year on the Forty Acres. As Texas Pikes close out the spring semester, Beta Mu marks another successful year of brotherhood, strong recruitment, philanthropy, athletics, social engagement and academic leadership across campus. The chapter continues to enjoy its new fraternity house and is in the midst of a vibrant semester of fraternal activities centered around 2400 Leon. Beta Mu proudly welcomed 21 new spring members, joining 108 Pikes for a total chapter membership of 130. The spring social calendar featured Moms and Dads Weekends, our traditional winter party Pike's Peak, March Madness festivities and an outstanding West Fest weekend (formerly known as Roundup), where we co-hosted major entertainment acts with our neighbors in the Sammy fraternity. Academics remain a point of pride. According to the most recent UT Austin grade reports from fall 2024, Pikes earned a GPA of 3.33, while the fall new member class posted an impressive 3.44. More than one-third of our members hold a GPA of 3.75 or higher! Beta Mu continues to keep our beloved traditions alive and well. Our annual Sweetheart selections took place this spring, and our fifth Pike Pancake Supper raised more than $5,500 for Texas Thon, the official student charity benefiting Dell Children's Hospital. Combined with the fall event, the chapter has contributed over $11,000 to Thon during the 2024-25 academic year. The chapter also hosted the Beta Mu Building Co.'s annual meeting and celebrated Founders' Day with alumni and house corporation leaders in early March. As the semester concluded, we enjoyed Senior Night and our Spring Formal. The academic year has been rich in brotherhood, social events, leadership development, community service and academic achievement. Alumni and families are always welcome and encouraged to visit the chapter in Austin! A Season of Growth and Success PIKE alumni have always given back to UT. The UT System's Chancellor's Council Executive Committee (CCEC) is an elected membership group that supports the mission of the UT System Chancellor. Over the years, many Pikes have been actively involved in the CCEC. A lively group of Beta Mu brothers from the 1970s and 1980s, along with their spouses, gathered in Galveston this February for the 2025 Winter Meetings of the CCEC. They joined 280 other UT advocates for a weekend that featured presentations by Chancellor JB Milliken as well as the president and senior staff of the UT Medical Branch.
